Alan McConnell is the Technical Director and principal consultant with Food Safety & Quality Management LLC. He provides technical support to food processing companies across the United States and around the world, in all product sectors. Alan also serves as an instructor in food defense, HACCP, and GMP, and has delivered training to all levels of food company associates.
Alan has over 22 years experience serving the food processing industry as a consultant, trainer, laboratory director, and quality control manager. His specialties include: food chemistry and microbiology, Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI) compliance, sanitation, HACCP, product and process forensics, labeling, and food import/export. He gets to the root of product and process problems. Alan served as Director of the Food Science & Technology Center at Harrisburg University; Sr. Technical Specialist to the Food Industry at PennTAP, Penn State University; and Director of Food Science Services for American Westech, Inc. He holds a B.S. in Plant Science, and a M.S. in Food Science, both from Penn State University.
